Founded in 1959, Computer Sciences Corporation is a leading global information technology (IT) services company. Digital China is an information technology services company dedicated to the advancement of digitization in China. According to IDC, Digital China is currently the largest IT products distributor and systems integrator in China. Digital China was spun off from Legend Group Limited and separately listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Limited on 1 June 2001. Digital China traces its beginnings to 1980s, when The Chinese Academy of Sciences underwent a restructure, a group of 20 scientists were dismissed with a sum of RMB200,000 for good. With a vision that technology boom must come along with China's modernization, they formed an import company to distribute computer products in China. In the next 20 years, the business of this small company expanded exponentially and later renamed to be Legend Group Limited. In 2000, the company underwent a restructure and separate into two entities - Digital China and Lenovo. Digital Chinawas later spun off and separately listed on the mainboard of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange Limited on 1 June 2001. Right after the listing, Digital China becomes a constituent of the Hang Seng Mainland Composite Index - Information Technology as well as the Morgan Stanley Capital International Standard Index.
